Springtime Eye Tutorial

I recently did a springtime look on my YouTube channel using the Semi Sweet Chocolate Bar palette from Too Faced! I have been loving this palette, it has so many wonderful neutrals and a few beautiful pops of color. I used the color Blueberry Swirl on my lid and I loved it! Check out my video below!

Morphe Brushes Jaclyn Hill Favorites Palette

Heaven's gates have opened and this palette fell out! Holy crap! Let me tell you, I went through hell trying to get my hands on this! I literally spent THIRTEEN hours on Morphe's website, constantly refreshing the page, just trying to add this to my cart and check out. Kim K. attempted to #breaktheinternet, but Jaclyn actually did it! In the end, my sleepless night was worth it.

Jaclyn Hill (my favorite YouTuber, in case you didn't know) teamed up with Morphe Brushes to create this palette of her favorite Morphe shadows. Normally their single shadows are only $2. This palette is $27.99 and has 28 shadows in it, making them $1 a shadow! You can't beat this price!

The quality of these shadows is wonderful. They are smooth and buttery and creamy. They blend beautifully! I love that you get so many necessary shades. You have your blending shades, your neutrals, mattes, shimmers, there are pops of color, warm tones, cool tones, etc. The only thing that I wish they added is a matte white or cream shade, for highlighting your brow bone, and a black.

Let's move on to the palette itself! The packaging is just your basic plastic package. It would have been cool if they would have actually put "Jaclyn Hill Favorites" on the palette itself, instead of the box, but it does have a sticker on the back that says JH. It's not magnetic but the closure it has keeps it from not opening. I mean I have trouble trying to get the damn thing open.

Now for the colors! Like I said, this covers everything! You can create practically any look you want to with this! Just look at it!

Cue the choir!

Do you see what I mean? I am in love with the pink and orange colors in here. And can we talk about that random green! This is going to be awesome for people of all skin tones. There is definitely something for everyone in here.

Morphe will be re-releasing this in February and I don't think they'll be releasing anymore after that. I will keep you all updated on the actual date when they release it!

The Smokes Palette by Maybelline

I was walking around the Walgreens beauty section when I noticed something new! Maybelline had a display for their Nudes palette but next to it was something I had never seen, nor heard about. They have released a new 12 pan palette called, The Smokes! I was excited, as usual, and grabbed it up so I could tell you guys all about it!

Maybelline The Smokes $11.99
The Nudes palette wasn't my favorite, although it had it's good points. This one is the same way. Some of the colors I LOVE, some aren't that great. Let's get to the swatches!

Bottom left hand corner.

Bottom right hand corner.
Standard applicator.

This comes with 6 mattes, 4 satins and 2 shimmers. The mattes tend to be a little patchy. They don't blend very well and aren't super pigmented. They also had mico-glitter within them. The satins are better, they are very, very pretty and show up quite a bit more. The shimmers are the winners in this! They are pigmented and just absolutely beautiful! Included with the palette is a standard applicator. For someone who doesn't own any brushes it will definitely come in handy! But, e.l.f. carries some wonderful brushes that range from $1-$3. They are some of my favorites and I recommend then to all beginners!

Overall, I think this palette is just OK. If you are a beginner on a budget, I think this would be a wonderful starter! It does have some wonderful transition colors and some gorgeous lid shades. I do think that some people would get a lot of use out of it! Let me know what you think, if you purchase it!

October Favorites

October was probably the busiest month of my life! Sorry I've been MIA! But, I'm back and I've brought my favorites with me!

First off, my new favorite mascara from the drugstore.  L'Oréal's new Voluminous Butterfly Intenza.  The wand is super cool with it's double wand and it doesn't clump whatsoever!

L'Oréal Volumious Butterfly Intenza, $8.99

Shout out to my daughter giving her mama a helping hand. :)

Another eye product I used a ton, this month, was L'Oréal's Infallible eye shadow in Iced Latte. This is a classic and a dupe for Stila's Kitten, but MUCH cheaper.

L'Oréal Infallible Eye Shadow in Iced Latte, $7.99

One more eye product that I can't live without is Maybelline's Eye Studio gel liner in Blackest Black. I love using this on the days I want an intense liner. Especially for winged liner! I just use an eyeliner brush with it, like E.L.F.'s liner brush (that's only $3).

Maybelline Eye Studio gel liner in Blackest Black,  $9.99

I have been loving the matte lipsticks from Maybelline.  The one I've been wearing the most is number 680, Mesmerizing Magenta. I could not get enough of this! Every time I reached for a lipstick, that was the one I picked with hesitation. A plus to these is they last FOREVER!

Maybelline Color Sensational Mattes in Mesmerizing Magenta, $5.49

Isn't it gorgeous!

Next up, hair products. I went to the bank a few weeks ago and the teller had the best curls I had ever seen! So, like a woman would, I asked what she uses. I immediately went to CVS and picked it up. When I wear my hair naturally,  this helps my curls to stay frizz free. It has been a life saver!

Marc Anthony Strictly Curls, $7.99
My favorite deep conditioner for the past  year has been, L'Oréal's Total Repair 5 Damage Erasing Balm. My hair feels so much healthier when I use this. I actually use the regular shampoo and conditioner too. But, this always seems to make my hair extra soft.

L'Oréal Total Repair 5 Damage Erasing Balm, $5.99
The best polish for this season, I'm sure you've heard of it, is OPI's Lincoln Park After Dark. It's dark purple and will last about two days before chipping. It is so pretty for Fall!

OPI, Lincoln Park After Dark, $9.99
Lastly, make-up remover. I don't have a eye cream but this eye make-up remover has actually helped to hydrate my under eye. All you need is a dime sized amount and rub the lotion over your eyes then gently remove it with a tissue. It gets off even the toughest mascara and leaves the area around your eyes feeling fabulous!

Neutrogena Eye Makeup Remover Lotion, $8.49

Urban Decay's Naked2 Basics

Urban Decay Naked2 Basics $29
Urban Decay has released a new palette! Just over a month ago they announced Naked2 Basics and everyone went stir crazy. I was super excited to get my hands on this palette! The original has been my go to for my everyday make-up for a long time now.

Top: Naked Basics Bottom: Naked2 Basics

The packaging has stayed the same with the exception of the lighter lettering. Both have a good size mirror and both are small enough to take with you on the go. Many people may say that the new palette is practically identical to the original, but I beg to differ! While they are similar, they are very different.

Top: Naked Basics Bottom: Naked2 Basics

Naked2 Basics is much cooler and on the taupe side. Five of the shades are matte and one is more of a satin. While they can be a little powdery, they all blend beautifully. I also like that you don't only have to use these as shadows. The colors can work great as brow powders (which is what I used Faint for, from the original, for a long time), you can use them as liners and you can even use the lightest shade as a highlight. Being so versatile makes it great to travel with!

Another thing I have noticed is that I have a lot of palettes that do not have the blending colors I need or the highlights and the Naked Basics palettes are the perfect companions to those. They give you those staple colors that you need, that you may not have.

I recommend this to those who don't already have staples in their collection or to those who are just Urban Decay junkies like me.

Brand New EOS Visibly Soft Lip Balm Review

I saw this today at Target and I immediately purchased it! Maybe it's because I am a self proclaimed lip product junkie or just because of the adorable packaging! But nonetheless I am constantly reaching for something to moisturize my lips, especially in the fall and winter. So, I was pleasantly surprised to see that EOS had came out with a brand new formula.

EOS Visibly Soft Lip Blame in Coconut Milk, .25 Oz,$2.99
Personally, I love this more than the originals. It doesn't have that waxy film like the others and it goes on SO smooth! The smell is freaking fantastic! I've had it for 4 hours and I'm already in love.

EOS says that they are 99% natural, petrolatum-free, paraban-free, gluten-free and phthalate-free. Definitely check this out! They also come in the flavor Vanilla Mint.
