November Favorites

This month I really didn't wear too much make-up because I was so BUSY! But I was able to find a few new things that I am really enjoying!

I have been trying to find a more yellow toned foundation for a few months now. I really wanted to get something from the drugstore, because I didn't want to spend $30+ on a high end foundation right now. I FINALLY FOUND ONE! I was at Wal-Mart making my normal rounds in the beauty department and Revlon isn't really ever one that I gravitate towards, but that day I did! I got the Revlon Colorstay foundation for combination/oily skin. Mine is in the color 150 buff. I'm really digging this! It does stay put for quite some time and it evens everything out. This is a medium coverage foundation. If I try to build it, it just moves everywhere, so that doesn't work for me.

Revlon Colorstay Combination/Oily Skin 150 Buff, $9.98

Have any of you tried the Real Techniques brushes? They are just wonderful! I needed a brush to set my under eye concealer and I actually found this one in my collection. DUH SUMMER. (eye roll at myself) It's perfect for what I need. It's small enough to get into the areas that you need it to, without messing anything else up. It's also really soft, like all of their other brushes.

Real Techniques Setting Brush, $7.99
Milani is one of my favorite brands at the drugstore. They have some of the best blushes I have ever came across. So, since I haven't worn much make-up this month, when I did I wanted something more natural looking. Luminoso is what I grabbed almost every time. It's a light pink-peach color with a hint of gold shimmer. You can definitely overdo it if you aren't careful. But it gives you such a beautiful glow. You do not need a highlight when using this, unless you really wanna. ;)

Next is a Nyx Butter Gloss, I love these things. They are pigmented and creamy and they smell like HEAVEN. My favorite color this month has been Red Velvet. I wear it by itself, over pink lipstick and over reds. It's beautiful!

If you are looking for an amazing liquid liner, that is also cheap, then look no further! This has been a favorite for many beauty gurus, for quite some time, but I just got it. It is the N.Y.C. Liquid Eye Liner in black. This makes winged liner so simple! It stays forever and it is super pigmented. For only $2.99, you can't beat it!

Last, I want to talk about the Simple Oil Balancing Cleansing Wipes. I like these because I have oily skin and if there is anything that can help it in the slightest then I am all about it! They get everything off that needs to come off and they are wonderful for sensitive skin. I'm into many of Simple's products because there aren't any perfumes, dyes or alcohol. If you wear contacts and other wipes bother your eyes, try these! I also really like the exfoliating ones.

Simple Brow Tutorial

Anastasia Beverly Hills Clear Brow Gel, $22, and Brow Wiz, $21.

This has been my most requested post yet! My brows are very simple and I do not like to go overboard with them. I like them to look as natural as they can! So, without further ado, here it is!

To start off, you want to find the right shade for you. If you have dark brows you want to go one to two shades darker than the actual brow color. If you are blonde, go one to two shades lighter. Redheads don't seem to have many options, but this one in the color Auburn is a wonderful choice, depending on your shade.

My favorite brow pencil is the Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz, $21, in Soft Brown. Anastasia is a brow genius! She also has a pomade and brow powder duo. All of her products are amazing.

Here are the steps that I take to achieve the look that I want.

1. After tweezing, comb throw your brows with a spoolie. I like to use the one on the other end of my brow pencil. If you don't have one, Anastasia has a great one here, $18, and Sonia Kashuk has a cheaper version here, $1.99.

2. Now, outline the bottom of your brow like this.

My camera decided to pick up all of my flaws in this picture...

3. Then, outline the top. This is where you can create a sharp or soft arch.

4.  After you are done outlining, you want to start filling them in. When doing this, you want to use light-handed strokes. I normally don't fill in the inner part of my brow. But, if you would like to, go for it!

Now you can stop here or do the next two steps. :)

5. For a more natural look, brush through your brows to take away a little bit of the product. Then add a highlight right underneath your bottom line.

6. Last, add your favorite brow gel. My favorite is the Anastasia Beverly Hills Clear Brow Gel, $22, it does not move! There are also tinted ones if you want a little more coverage, like this one from Benefit, $22.

And now you're done! Easy peasy!

What I'm wearing:

Eyeshadow: Lorac Pro 2 Palette

Skin Care Routine: Night

Don't you love the feeling of taking your make-up off at the end of a long day? I know I do! While I'm at it, I like to take a few more steps to really take care of my skin.

Step 1: Remove Make-Up

I recently ran out of make-up remover wipes so tonight I used the Almay Oil Free Gentle Eye Makeup Remover Pads. These are wonderful for waterproof mascara, they take everything off so easily. Apply slight pressure over closed eyes to help break up your mascara then wipe it away.

Almay Oil Free Gentle Eye Makeup Remover Pads $7.99

Swisspers Supreme Cotton Ovals $2.58

Step 2: Wash Your Face

Once you remove your make-up, you want to wash away any excess dirt and oil. Simple has a lot of wonderful products that are non-comedogenic and hypoallergenic. My skin can be super sensitive, so I use a lot of their products. I really like the Simple Moisturizing Facial Wash. Also, when I wash my face at night I like to use my Clarisonic Mia, just for a little extra help. And don't neglect your neck!

Simple Moisturizing Facial Wash $5.97

Clarisonic Mia $99.00

Step 3: Mask

Once a week (normally on Sundays for me) I enjoy a nice face mask. Maybe I just want to feel a little fancy! I love the Glam Glow masks! Those suckers are pricey but they are worth every penny! Luckily, I had a sample for tonight.

Glam Glow Youthmud Tinglexfoliate Treatment $69.99 for 1.7 oz

Step 4: Toner

I actually just started using a toner again a couple weeks ago and my skin looks so much firmer. I have also noticed that my breakouts are going away and staying away! Just apply it to a cotton ball and apply all over your face and neck. If you are prone to breakouts, try one like,  Neutrogena's Oil-Free Acne Stress Control Triple-Action Toner.

Neutrogena Acne Stress Control Triple-Action Toner $7.99

Step 5: Spot Treatment

If there is nothing to treat then skip this step. If so, take any spot treatment you have on hand and place a small amount on each breakout. I've been enjoying the one from last month's Ipsy bag, Clean Clinic Vanished Clear Spot Treatment.

Clear Clinic Vanished Clear Spot Treatment $35.00

Step 6: Eye Cream

Technically, what I use isn't really an "eye cream" but it's awesome nonetheless! I love the Simple Revitalizing Eye Roll-On. I especially like to put it in the fridge and let it get nice and cold before I apply it to my eyes. After rolling it on, I use my ring fingers to pat it into my skin. You always want to use your ring fingers under you eye because they apply the least amount of pressure.

Simple Revitalizing Eye Roll-On $10.99

Step 7: Moisturize

After you are done with everything, your face will probably feel quite tight and dry. Moisturizer helps to replenish all that you just took away. Apply it all over your face and neck. My favorite at the moment is Simple's Replenishing Rich Moisturizer.

Simple Replenishing Rich Moisturizer $9.97

Extra:

I like to use a lip scrub and lip balm after I remove my mask. For an awesome scrub, try Bliss Fabulous Sugar Lip Scrub (For a more budget friendly one, try the lip scrub by e.l.f.. It is wonderful too and just $3!) Then apply a moisturizing lip balm. EOS just came out with some new ones that are fabulous!

Bliss Fabulips Sugar Lip Scrub $18.00

EOS Visibly Soft Lip Balm in Vanilla Mint $3.49
