Urban Decay's Vice 3: Swatches and Review

Urban Decay's holiday lineup is here! They have 2 new 24/7 liner sets, a lipstick stash, an All Nighter Setting Spray Duo, Naked Illuminated and last but not least, Vice 3. Vice was definitely the thing I was most excited about. Here are my thoughts!

First things first I'm the realest the packaging. Vice 3 is quite similar to Vice 1 and 2 as it is plastic and it has a nice BIG mirror on the inside.  It also opens to the perfect angle to apply your make-up which is really nice. The outside is silver on the front with raised lettering in lime green that says Vice. The back is a bright lime green also.

Urban Decay's Vice 3 $60
One cool thing they did this time around was include a bag for the palette to live in. It matches the exterior of the palette and has Urban Decay's UD on the bottom right corner. This bag is pretty darn big! It would be a wonderful travel bag!

In addition to the bag you get a double ended brush. This one is really similar to the one that came with Vice 2, when I put them side by side there were hardly any differences. The brush is also lime green and the writing matches the writing on the palette.

Now for the important part, the shadows! Brownie points to Urban Decay for creating 20, yes TWENTY, all new shades! I love how they really thought about the little things. In the first row, going from the top to the bottom, we have the neutrals. The second through fourth rows are all jewel tones and the third row is the smokey colors.

Overall this is a gorgeous palette! From the packaging to the colors. The only thing I wish they would have done differently is add that nifty little button that they added to the Vice 2 palette, but I won't be picky. The shadows are creamy and buttery and SUPER pigmented. I didn't use any primer under the swatches and they still worked perfectly. Out of the looks I've created so far, I have noticed that the colors blend together beautifully! The first row is a bit powdery, but nothing too bad.

If you are looking for a palette that has practically everything you need, then look no more! Vice has you covered. This would also be the perfect Christmas present for the make-up lover in your life.

Urban Decay's Naked2 Basics

Urban Decay Naked2 Basics $29
Urban Decay has released a new palette! Just over a month ago they announced Naked2 Basics and everyone went stir crazy. I was super excited to get my hands on this palette! The original has been my go to for my everyday make-up for a long time now.

Top: Naked Basics Bottom: Naked2 Basics

The packaging has stayed the same with the exception of the lighter lettering. Both have a good size mirror and both are small enough to take with you on the go. Many people may say that the new palette is practically identical to the original, but I beg to differ! While they are similar, they are very different.

Top: Naked Basics Bottom: Naked2 Basics

Top: Naked Basics Bottom: Naked2 Basics

Naked2 Basics is much cooler and on the taupe side. Five of the shades are matte and one is more of a satin. While they can be a little powdery, they all blend beautifully. I also like that you don't only have to use these as shadows. The colors can work great as brow powders (which is what I used Faint for, from the original, for a long time), you can use them as liners and you can even use the lightest shade as a highlight. Being so versatile makes it great to travel with!

Another thing I have noticed is that I have a lot of palettes that do not have the blending colors I need or the highlights and the Naked Basics palettes are the perfect companions to those. They give you those staple colors that you need, that you may not have.

I recommend this to those who don't already have staples in their collection or to those who are just Urban Decay junkies like me.

Maybelline Color Sensational: Mattes

Maybelline Color Sensational Mattes $5.49
From left to right Ravishing Rose, Mesmerizing Magenta, Siren In Scarlet, Divine Wine.

There is new lipstick at the drugstore! Maybelline has released a line of matte lipsticks and they are going to be permanent. Now let me tell you, these babies are hard to find! I have only seen them at Target, so far, but they are popping up at Walgreens and Ulta.

I bought 4 of the colors a week ago because they were already selling out. Hopefully, I'll be able to get a few more of them soon. But, for now, here are a few swatches to hold ya over.

Ravishing Rose

Mesmerizing Magenta

Siren In Scarlet

Divine Wine
I really like this formula. A lot of times matte lipsticks can dry your lips out or you'll reapply 50,000 times to take away from the dryness. These ones are nice and creamy and they stay put for hours. I recommend trying them out, you'll love them!

Fall Tutorial With Lorac Pro 2

Fall is my favorite season. I love the gray skies, sweater weather and bringing Starbucks back into my routine. But, most of all, I love Fall make-up!

Today, we're going to create a look using the Lorac Pro 2 palette. I can already tell that this will be a staple, for me, for Fall and Winter! Let's get started!

First, you want to prime your eyes. I used my favorite primer by Urban Decay. Then, with a fluffy blending brush, I buffed Light Brown into my crease.

Next, with a shader brush, I packed Rose onto the inner half of my lid and into the inner corner. Be sure to blend the colors together after each step.

After that, I took Jade and packed it onto the outter half of my lid with another shader brush. Then blended Rose and Jade together.

Then, with a small blending brush, I blended Plum into my outter V.

After doing my brows, I highlighted my brow bone with the lightest color, Snow.

Make sure to blend, blend, blend! Now it's time for eyeliner! All I did was add black liquid liner to my top lash line. I didn't do a thick line and I didn't wing it just so that I didn't take away from the shadow.

Last, you want to add a coat or two of your favorite mascara! And that completes your eyes!

For my face, I wanted to keep it simple. I used a liquid foundation that sets to a matte finish, bronzed my face and added a deep colored blush. On my lips, I wanted a dark matte lipstick so I used MAC's Diva.

Here's the final look!

Simple Brow Tutorial

Anastasia Beverly Hills Clear Brow Gel, $22, and Brow Wiz, $21.

This has been my most requested post yet! My brows are very simple and I do not like to go overboard with them. I like them to look as natural as they can! So, without further ado, here it is!

To start off, you want to find the right shade for you. If you have dark brows you want to go one to two shades darker than the actual brow color. If you are blonde, go one to two shades lighter. Redheads don't seem to have many options, but this one in the color Auburn is a wonderful choice, depending on your shade.

My favorite brow pencil is the Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz, $21, in Soft Brown. Anastasia is a brow genius! She also has a pomade and brow powder duo. All of her products are amazing.

Here are the steps that I take to achieve the look that I want.

1. After tweezing, comb throw your brows with a spoolie. I like to use the one on the other end of my brow pencil. If you don't have one, Anastasia has a great one here, $18, and Sonia Kashuk has a cheaper version here, $1.99.

2. Now, outline the bottom of your brow like this.

My camera decided to pick up all of my flaws in this picture...

3. Then, outline the top. This is where you can create a sharp or soft arch.

4.  After you are done outlining, you want to start filling them in. When doing this, you want to use light-handed strokes. I normally don't fill in the inner part of my brow. But, if you would like to, go for it!

Now you can stop here or do the next two steps. :)

5. For a more natural look, brush through your brows to take away a little bit of the product. Then add a highlight right underneath your bottom line.

6. Last, add your favorite brow gel. My favorite is the Anastasia Beverly Hills Clear Brow Gel, $22, it does not move! There are also tinted ones if you want a little more coverage, like this one from Benefit, $22.

And now you're done! Easy peasy!

Eyeshadow: Lorac Pro 2 Palette

Lorac Pro 2 Palette: Swatches and Review

Lorac's amazing Pro 1 palette is one of the most used palettes in my collection. So, imagine my excitement when I found out that a new one was coming out! Well, the wait is over and it has made it's way into my make-up drawer.

The original was warm toned, a lot like Urban Decay's first Naked palette. This one is much more cool toned. It also has a few pops of color, like the first one, with colors like Plum, Navy and Jade.

Pigmentation in this is absolutely perfect! There is also no fallout with the mattes and very little with the shimmers (just be sure to tap the excess shadow from your brush).

Within the palette you get 8 mattes and 8 shimmers. It also comes with a deluxe sample of their Behind The Scenes eye primer.

Lorac Pro 2, $42
The top row is all mattes.

The bottom row is all shimmer.

This came just in time for fall and I can't wait to create a ton of looks with all the gorgeous colors! Come back soon for a fall tutorial!
